Noma LeMoine, Ph.D., is a national education expert and consultant to school districts across the country. She is the former director of the Los Angeles Unified School District's ACADEMIC ENGLISH MASTERY PROGRAM. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the design, development, coordination and implementation of a program that served over 30,000 students, 2,000 teachers and 800 paraeducators. The program, which has been featured on "60 Minutes" and in periodicals including Education Week and Teacher Magazine, has as its primary goal facilitating mastery of standard American English in students who are speakers of non-standard languages, while fostering in them an appreciation for their home language and culture.

Dr. LeMoine holds a Master's degree in Language and Speech Pathology and Audiology from California State University at Los Angeles, a second Master's degree in Education from California Lutheran University and earned a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Learning at the University of Southern California (USC). She has served over ten years as an adjunct professor at several California universities and colleges and has taught courses in Language Acquisition in Children, Speech and Language Development and Disorders, and Language and Speech Development in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations.
